In
a normal year, TCB will be involved in more than 200 technical
co-operation projects in about 100 countries. These projects,
which cover the entire spectrum of civil aviation, range from
large (up to $12 million) to medium ($1 million annually) to
small ($100 000).
Contracting
States objectives may be to develop an international airport,
to install complex aeronautical communications systems, to help
an airline train aircraft maintenance technicians, or to award
training fellowships.
No
civil aviation project is too large or too small for ICAO technical
co-operation. The determinant is simply what countries need
to make civil aviation safe and efficient so that it can make
its maximum contribution to social and economic development.
