A Joint ICAO/AFCAC Regional Symposium for African States on the Economics of Airports and Air Navigation Services will be held from 17 to 19 August 2009 at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala, Uganda. It is hosted by the National Civil Aviation Administration of Uganda.
The aim of the Symposium is:
- to bring to the attention of States the outcome of the ICAO Conference on the Economics of Airports and Air Navigation Services (CEANS), held in September 2008 in Montreal;
- to promote the adherence to and implementation of ICAO’s Policies on Charges for Airports and Air Navigation Services (Doc 9082), which have been revised and updated based on the recommendations of CEANS; and,
- to provide a forum for African States and stakeholders to exchange views and experiences regarding the economics and management of airports and air navigation services.
The Symposium will have four sessions:
Session 1: ICAO’s Policies on Charges for Airports and Air Navigation Services
Session 2: Airport and Air Navigation Services Economics
Session 3: Airport and Air Navigation Services Charges in Africa
Session 4: Summary of proceedings
