Welcome to the
website of the Worldwide Symposium on Performance of the Air Navigation
System, which was held in Montreal from 26 – 30 March 2007.
This global event is
in follow-up to the Eleventh
Air Navigation Conference (AN-Conf/11) held in 2003, during which a
performance framework for the air navigation system was outlined, based
on the global air traffic management operational concept. Substantial
progress has been achieved since AN-Conf/11 through the work of panels of
experts working under the auspices of ICAO as well as by individual
States and international organizations.
The symposium is
intended to create awareness among government policy makers and
regulators, air navigation service providers, airport operators and
airspace users of the need to create a performance framework for the
purpose of enhancing safety and efficiency in the air navigation system.
It will also be open to participation by the wider aviation industry, as
well as other parties interested in air navigation and air transport
performance aspects, such as financiers, consultants and members of the
academic community. Invited prominent moderators and speakers will lead
the discussion on immediate and future issues related to the performance
of the air navigation system, and ample time will be available for
interaction between panellists and the audience.
All documents and presentationspresented at the Symposium, as well as photos of the proceedings could be found under the Documentation menu link
