| Technical work programme responsibilities |
- undertakes studies and provides guidance relating to aeronautical information services (AIS), aeronautical charts (MAP), aeronautical and terrain databases, abbreviations and codes, WGS-84, AIS/MAP quality systems, training of AIS and MAP officers and other related AIS and MAP matters
- provides technical expertise on the AIS and MAP subjects to the Assembly, Council and the Air Navigation Commmission
- provides a cartographic service for the Organization
- maintains regional air navigation plan publications (ANPPs) and associated facilities and services implementation documents (FASIDs)
- maintains Regional Supplementary Procedures (Doc 7030)
- maintains aeronautical information and aeronautical chart libraries
- collects and processes aeronautical information required to maintain ICAO planning and service documents databases and publishes them on the web
- provides critiques on States’ aeronautical information publications and aeronautical charts
- maintains the Airport Characteristics Data Bank (ACDB) and five-letter name code databases
