We are pleased to announce the fourth in the series of development fora conducted by ICAO and the World Bank. This forum, which is focused on aviation development in the Asia/Pacific region in the context of safe, secure and sustainable air transport, is particularly relevant since 2008 has proved to be the most challenging in the history of aviation in the region.
The forum will be held in the International Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 14 to 15 October 2008 during the World Route Development Forum (Routes 2008) which will be held from 12 to 14 October 2008 at the same venue. It will focus on current challenges such as competition among carriers and their responses to the exponential growth of information technology and competitive strategies in the region. These developments will be viewed through globalization; penetrations of international markets; and the shifting of air carriers from a mere competitive advantage in certain areas to an overall competitive advantage. There will also be discussions on innovative strategies on capacity management and strategic pricing.
At this meeting of leading experts in air transport in Asia/Pacific, the aviation development focus on Asia and the Pacific would involve discussion on issues relating to air transport services as economic catalysts for the region; air transport market access; safety and security challenges; and funding and resource mobilization for civil aviation.
We hope you will be able to attend this important event.
Participation is free of charge. Please note that on-line registration is mandatory in order to facilitate registration between Routes and the Development Forum.
